Environmental Sensors
CisgenX integrates with multiple sensor types to provide real-time environmental data for precision irrigation decisions.
Supported Sensor Types
| Sensor Type | Measurement | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Soil Moisture | Volumetric water content (%) | Determine when irrigation is needed |
| Flow Sensor | Water flow rate (L/min) | Monitor water consumption and detect leaks |
| Leaf Wetness | Surface moisture level | Disease prevention, avoid over-watering |
| Level Sensor | Water tank/reservoir level | Monitor water source availability |
| Microclimate | Temperature, humidity, wind | ET calculations and weather adjustments |
Viewing Sensor Data
- Navigate to Dashboard > Sensors from the sidebar.
- Select the sensor category (Soil Moisture, Flow, Leaf Wetness, etc.).
- Choose a specific location or zone to view readings.
- Use the date range picker to view historical data.
ET Zone Configuration
Evapotranspiration (ET) zones group areas with similar microclimate conditions. ET data is used to automatically adjust irrigation schedules based on actual plant water demand.
To configure ET zones:
- Go to Config > Sensors > ET Zone.
- Create a new ET zone or edit an existing one.
- Assign the reference weather station for the zone.
- Map the zone to the relevant irrigation areas.
Alert Thresholds
Set custom thresholds for each sensor to receive notifications when values go out of range. Configure alerts under Config > Alerts.
Tip: Set soil moisture thresholds between 20-40% for most turf applications. Values below 15% indicate severe drought stress.
